About Raquel

Raquel Santiago trained first in Puerto Rico and then in Washington, D.C. She earned her J.D. from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras in 2007 and completed an LL.M. in Litigation and Dispute Resolution at The George Washington University Law School in 2008. Those years set the foundation for work that would cross legal practice, project management and workplace strategy.

Her early professional steps included a project management position at CSA Group, Inc., in 2011. There she worked on operational and compliance matters that required coordination among technical teams, clients and outside counsel. The role gave her practical exposure to organizational processes and risk control, experience she would later bring into private practice.

By 2013 she had opened Santiago Law Services LLC and began practicing law in Puerto Rico. Her work draws on the litigation training from her LL.M. program and the procedural grounding of her J.D. She also kept a connection to the academy. In 2016 she served as an adjunct professor at the Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico, teaching courses that addressed aspects of law relevant to students preparing for careers in engineering and technical fields.

Santiago’s credentials include a SHRM-SCP certification from the Society for Human Resources Management, and she has been a member of SHRM since 2004. That background gives her insight into the human resources and employment dimensions of legal problems, especially those that involve workplace policy, compliance and dispute resolution. She combines that regulatory and organizational understanding with litigation techniques learned during her advanced legal studies.

Peers and clients describe her approach as pragmatic. She favors clear lines of communication and incremental problem solving. She tends to break complex matters into manageable steps and seeks outcomes that address both legal risk and operational realities. That practical method is visible in work that spans advising organizations on internal procedures to representing clients in contested matters within Puerto Rico’s courts.

Santiago continues to lead Santiago Law Services LLC from Puerto Rico, where she handles matters that reflect her background in litigation, dispute resolution and workplace issues. Her current practice focuses on assisting clients with litigation strategy, employment-related matters and organizational compliance.
