About Melissa C

Melissa C Mihok built a steady, courtroom-aware career out of steady choices and steady work. She trained in Ohio and returned to Florida to practice. Simple steps, repeated over time, produced a broad practice that ranges from employment law to corporate counsel duties.

She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from Kent State University in 1998 and completed her Juris Doctor at the University of Akron School of Law in 2002. Those academic years set the foundation for litigation skills and an interest in workplace law and compliance.

Her first recorded position after law school was as a lawyer at Kelly & McKee, P.A., beginning in 2002. That early period provided courtroom exposure and client work typical of a small to mid-size firm. Over time she moved into roles that combined litigation and advisory responsibilities.

In 2014 she formed Melissa C. Mihok, P.A., serving as president and lawyer. Running her own firm required handling both casework and the business side of legal practice. Two years later, in 2016, she took on a role described as Private Corporate Counsel (PCC). That title signals a blend of in-house advisory work and outside counsel service, advising employers and companies on employment matters and corporate policies.

Her practice credentials include admission to the Florida bar and to several federal jurisdictions. She is admitted to practice in the Eleventh Circuit and in the Middle, Northern and Southern Districts of Florida. She also holds a labor and employment certification from the Florida Bar Association, which aligns with much of the work she handles.

Over the years her work has mixed defense-side employment litigation, internal corporate counseling, and courtroom appearances in federal and state forums. She has experience drafting employee policies, advising on compliance questions, and representing clients in disputes that reach trial-level federal courts in Florida.

Today she practices at CPLS, P.A. The office combines litigation capability with advisory services for businesses and individuals. Her caseload reflects that mix: employment and labor matters, corporate counsel tasks, and litigation that proceeds through Florida state courts and the federal districts where she is admitted. She continues to represent clients in both advisory and adversarial settings and maintains her active practice at CPLS, P.A.
