About Randy R
Randy R Babi completed his undergraduate studies at Wayne State University, earning a B.A. in political science in 2009. He went on to the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law and received his J.D. in 2012. During law school he studied criminal justice, trial practice, counseling and negotiation, areas that have continued to shape his work.
His early legal training came inside Detroit's trial courts. In 2010 he served as an extern to Judges Bruce Morrow and Annette Berry in the 3rd Circuit Court of Wayne County. The following year he worked in the University of Detroit Mercy Criminal Clinic, acting as a public defender in the 35th District Court covering Plymouth, Canton and Northville. Those experiences exposed him to courtroom procedure and client representation under pressure.
After law school he took a different turn for a time. In 2014 he worked on IT contracts and open source software matters for Ford Motor Company. That corporate role added contract drafting and technology-focused legal work to his résumé. In 2016 he established The Boss Lawyer PLLC and took on the role of managing lawyer. He handles matters across criminal law and personal injury from that base.
His credentials include a Standardized Field Sobriety Certification from the Michigan Association of OWI Lawyers. That certification informs his handling of impaired-driving and related criminal cases. It is one among several practical tools he draws on when preparing for motion practice, hearings or trial.
Babi’s background mixes courtroom exposure, clinical defense work, corporate contracting and solo practice management. He has experience representing clients at trial and in pretrial settings. He has also represented clients in civil matters arising from accidents and injuries. The mix of criminal defense and personal-injury work gives him experience on both the defensive and remedial sides of the justice system.
Clients and colleagues describe him as straightforward and pragmatic in the courtroom. He prepares for hearings with attention to evidentiary detail and factual lines of cross-examination. On the civil side he pursues damages and remedies where appropriate and weighs litigation options against settlement possibilities.
Licensed to practice in Michigan, Babi runs The Boss Lawyer PLLC and maintains an active practice. He currently concentrates his work on criminal law and personal injury.
