About Randell Keith
Randell Keith Wood earned a B.S. in Psychology from Missouri State University in 1970 and a J.D. from the University of Missouri–Kansas City School of Law in 1976. His academic path combined an interest in human behavior with formal legal training. Those early studies in psychology helped shape how he views witness testimony and client counseling later in his career.
He joined Wood Law Office and became a partner in 1979. Over the decades that followed he has worked in both state and federal forums. He is admitted to practice in Missouri, before the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit, and the bar of the U.S. Supreme Court.
Wood’s career spans trial work and appellate filings. He has taken matters into the courtroom and has prepared appellate briefs and petitions. That mix of trial and appellate involvement has allowed him to follow cases from initial filings through post-trial motions and appeals when necessary.
Based in Springfield, he has practiced from the Wood Law Office’s Springfield office for many years. The office has been the locus of his day-to-day practice since he became partner. Clients have brought state and federal matters there, and Wood has maintained a steady presence in the local legal community.
Colleagues describe him as methodical in preparation and steady during hearings. He approaches cases by breaking issues down and building records suitable for trial or appeal. Over time he has handled procedural matters, evidentiary disputes, and contested hearings that require careful attention to rules and precedent.
Outside the courtroom, Wood’s background in psychology has informed how he prepares witnesses and evaluates case strategy. He balances a practical view of litigation risks with an attention to the facts that underlie each matter. That approach guides interactions with clients and opposing counsel alike.
As of 2026, he continues to practice with the Wood Law Office in Springfield, representing clients in matters brought in Missouri courts and in federal forums.
