About Rand
Rand Zumwalt completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Texas at Austin in 1998, earning a B.A. in Economics and Business Administration. He returned to Texas for law school and received his J.D. from St. Mary’s University School of Law in 2003. Those formative years provided a foundation in transactional thinking and legal analysis.
After law school, Zumwalt built a practice grounded in courtroom procedure and federal filings. He established a professional path that spans state and federal jurisdictions. Over time he added admissions to the Federal Circuit and to bars in Colorado and Texas, bringing a range of procedural settings into his work.
His career has involved representation across multiple forums. He has worked on matters brought in state courts and in federal courts that required attention to appellate and administrative procedures. Colleagues describe him as methodical in preparing filings and deliberate in courtroom presentation. His training in economics and business gives him a practical lens when handling cases that include commercial or regulatory elements.
Zumwalt’s approach to client work leans on clear explanation and steady case management. He aims to set realistic expectations and to map out litigation milestones for clients so they understand timing and possible outcomes. He prepares documentary records and briefs with an eye toward clarity and legal precision. His background in both business and law often shapes how he frames legal issues for judges, opposing counsel, and clients.
He practices through Zumwalt Law Group, PLLC. From that platform he handles matters in the jurisdictions where he holds admission, including filings in Colorado, Texas, and before the Federal Circuit. He maintains a caseload that reflects those admissions and the variety of procedural environments they entail. He currently practices at Zumwalt Law Group, PLLC, handling matters in jurisdictions where he is licensed.
