About Ralph James Wilson
Ralph James Wilson Jr. built a legal foundation that began in the classroom. He earned a B.A. in history and biology from the University of South Carolina in 1997. He returned to study law at Western Michigan University Cooley Law School and received his J.D. in 2002, completing coursework in criminal law and litigation.
His early years in practice were steady and hands-on. In 2006 he worked as a law clerk at Coastal Law. Two years later he was listed as a senior lawyer under the name Ralph J. Wilson, Lawyer at Law. He became a partner in 2014 at Wilson & Wilson Law Group, and the next year he took on executive roles as CEO and CFO at Ralph Wilson Law P.C.
Wilson's bar credentials include admission in South Carolina and in the 5th Circuit. Those credentials align with the type of cases he has handled over the years. He is active in professional organizations that reflect the contours of his work. He is a member of the South Carolina Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and of the National College for DUI Defense, affiliations that point to a practice centered on criminal and DUI defense.
Colleagues and clients have encountered him in two coastal locations. He maintains an office in Conway that serves as his main office and a separate office in Myrtle Beach. Records show a steady progression from clerkship to running his own firm, a path that brought administrative responsibilities alongside courtroom work.
His courtroom experience and association memberships steer his caseload. He represents clients in criminal matters and in DUI-related proceedings, and he appears in matters that implicate state and federal rules consistent with his admissions. He splits time between his Conway and Myrtle Beach offices and handles trial work as well as case preparation and client counseling.
As of 2026 he continues to practice law in South Carolina, maintaining active involvement in criminal defense and DUI matters.
