About Rafael Gil
Rafael Gil III built a foundation in numbers before turning to law. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Pre-Law and Accounting from Auburn University in 1997. He then continued his studies at the Thomas Goode Jones School of Law at Faulkner University, receiving his Juris Doctor in 2000. The combination of accounting and legal training shaped the early contours of his practice.
Gil’s first professional legal experience came while he was still in law school. In 1998 he served as a law clerk at Backus & Associates. That position exposed him to case preparation, client files and courtroom procedure at an early stage. He completed law school and moved into practice after receiving his degree in 2000.
Over the years, Gil has handled matters that require attention to financial detail and procedural precision. His undergraduate background in accounting informs how he approaches documents, audits and records. He has also developed experience in appellate work and court filings that demand concise legal writing and adherence to procedural rules.
He is admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. That admission has allowed him to represent clients on appeal and in matters that reach the federal appellate level. His work in those proceedings has required detailed briefing, oral argument preparation and familiarity with appellate standards of review.
Gil now runs The Gil Law Office. He manages client intake, case strategy and filings out of that office. Colleagues describe him as methodical in his preparation and clear in his written work. Clients have relied on him for litigation support that crosses from trial-level questions into appellate review.
He maintains an active practice that includes appellate representation in the Eleventh Circuit and related federal proceedings. At The Gil Law Office he represents clients in appeals and other matters brought before the Eleventh Circuit and in associated legal proceedings.
