About Aaron
Aaron Gartlan earned his law degree from the Thomas Goode Jones School of Law at Faulkner University in 1999 after completing a Bachelor of Science at Troy University’s Dothan campus in 1996. He began legal work as an intern while still in law school and moved into associate roles soon after passing the bar. He also served in the Alabama Army National Guard in 1992 as a Cannon Fire Direction Specialist.
Early in his career Gartlan held several associate positions at local firms. He worked at The Law Offices of Thomas S. Smith and at Motley, Motley & Yarbrough. He then spent time at Jackson, Rhodes, Moulton & Capps and at a successor Moulton, Capps firm. Those early years gave him steady courtroom exposure and hands-on civil litigation experience.
By 2005 Gartlan had advanced to partner-level work. He joined Capps & Gartlan as a partner and later opened his own practice as The Gartlan Law Office in 2007. That same year he returned to academia briefly as an adjunct business law instructor at Troy University’s Dothan campus. In 2011 he entered a partnership at The Hogg & Gartlan Law Office and in 2019 he established Gartlan Injury Law, where he serves as principal.
Gartlan’s professional affiliations reflect a practice centered on trial work. He has been a member of the Alabama State Bar and the Houston County Bar Association since 2000. Since 2011 he has held memberships in the Alabama Association for Justice, the American Association for Justice and the National Trial Lawyers Association. In 2016 he earned lifetime membership in both the Million Dollar Advocates Forum and the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum.
Colleagues and court records show a lawyer who spends much of his time on personal injury litigation. He represents clients in claims that often require negotiation, depositions and trial preparation. The memberships he maintains require substantive results in high-value cases, and they reflect a practice accustomed to complex civil disputes rather than routine transactional work.
Gartlan Injury Law is the latest chapter in a career that spans two decades of courtroom practice, firm leadership and periodic teaching. He continues to handle personal injury litigation and client representation at Gartlan Injury Law, where he maintains an active trial practice.
