About Rachel
Rachel Weisman earned her law degree from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in 1989. She entered the profession at a time of change in both New York and New Jersey practice. Her legal education at Cardozo provided exposure to civil litigation and dispute resolution in an urban setting, and it set the stage for a multi-jurisdictional practice.
She is admitted to practice in New Jersey and New York and holds admissions to the U.S. Supreme Court and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Those admissions have allowed her to appear in state and federal matters across the region. She has maintained a bench-to-bar perspective that reflects experience in trial and appellate settings.
In 2001 she became managing partner at Weisman Law Group, P.C. She has led the firm’s day-to-day operations since that appointment. As managing partner she has overseen case handling, client relations and the professional development of attorneys at the firm. The role has required balancing administrative responsibilities with casework and courtroom appearances.
Weisman is a certified mediator through Mediation Concepts in New York City. That credential informs her approach to dispute resolution. It also gives her an option to guide clients toward alternative methods of resolving conflict when appropriate. She holds memberships in the Nassau County Women’s Bar Association and the Nassau County Bar Association, where her association dates back to 2001 and continues today. Those local bar activities have kept her connected to legal developments on Long Island and to the community of practicing lawyers there.
Her practice is based at Weisman Law Group, P.C., where she manages client matters that arise in the jurisdictions where she is admitted. She handles litigation and settlement work across state and federal forums. She continues to practice in courts in New Jersey and New York, and she remains available to appear in federal appellate and Supreme Court proceedings where admission permits. She concentrates her practice on matters in the jurisdictions where she holds admission and in forums where she is permitted to appear.
