About Rachel

Rachel Weidler built a layered legal education before entering practice. She earned a B.A. in International Relations from Brigham Young University in 1999, a J.D. from Rutgers School of Law–Camden in 2007, and an LL.M. in Taxation from Temple University Beasley School of Law in 2012. Those degrees map a clear line from broad public affairs to specialist training in tax law.

After law school and graduate study, Weidler became licensed in several jurisdictions. She holds admissions in New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey, and she is admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. She maintains memberships in the state bars of Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York. She is also active in national and local professional groups, including the American Bar Association and the Philadelphia Bar Association, and she belongs to the J. Reuben Clark Society.

Her academic work in taxation underpins the kinds of matters she handles. The LL.M. gave her technical grounding in federal tax rules and procedures. Combined with a J.D., that training provides a framework for handling tax controversy, planning and compliance issues. Her undergraduate study in international relations adds a broader perspective on cross-border questions and policy contexts that sometimes arise in tax work.

Colleagues describe Weidler as methodical and precise. She approaches problems by breaking them down into discrete issues. That approach is useful in tax practice, where statutes, regulations and rulings must be read together. It also fits work that touches on multiple jurisdictions or federal court practice, such as matters filed in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

Outside bar memberships, Weidler participates in forums where tax practitioners and generalists discuss developments in law and practice. She follows changes at the federal level and monitors state tax initiatives that affect clients doing business across state lines. Those activities keep her current on procedural shifts and evolving enforcement priorities.

Weidler’s profile is shaped by technical tax training, courtroom admission and a background in international affairs. She balances detailed statutory work with an eye to procedural and jurisdictional issues. She currently concentrates her practice on tax law and related transactional matters.
