About Rachel Lynn
Rachel Lynn Foley earned her J.D. from Creighton University School of Law in 1993. She completed law school at a time when bankruptcy law was changing rapidly. The degree set the stage for a career centered on consumer insolvency and creditor-debtor matters.
Her professional trajectory took her to the Kansas City area, where she became chief executive of Foley Law - KC Bankruptcy in 2004. She is licensed to practice in both Missouri and Kansas. Over the years she has taken leadership roles in regional and national bankruptcy organizations. Those positions reflect long-standing involvement in the bankruptcy bar rather than occasional participation.
Foley is board certified in Consumer Bankruptcy Law by the American Board of Certification. That credential signals concentrated practice in consumer bankruptcy matters and an assessed level of knowledge in that field. She has maintained active ties to professional groups that shape bankruptcy practice and education.
Her service to professional associations runs through multiple organizations. She serves as Missouri co-chair of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys and holds memberships in the Kansas Bankruptcy Bar Association and the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association. Since 2014 she has co-chaired the ABI/UMKC Midwestern Bankruptcy Institute, a program that assembles judges, trustees, attorneys and academics to discuss developments in bankruptcy law.
Practically, Foley’s work involves counseling individuals facing debt relief choices and representing debtors in bankruptcy proceedings. Her courtroom experience is concentrated in consumer chapters and related adversary matters. Clients and colleagues note her sustained engagement in the details of chapter filings, plan administrations and creditor negotiations.
She has overseen Foley Law, P.C. - KC Bankruptcy for more than two decades, directing the firm’s approach to consumer bankruptcy representation and case management. She remains active in continuing education and bar activities. She currently practices consumer bankruptcy law at Foley Law, P.C. - KC Bankruptcy.
