About Rachel Grace
Rachel Grace Gelfand took a circuitous path to the law. She completed a bachelor’s degree at Emory University in 2013, studying film and political science. The dual major gave her two tools: an eye for narrative and a habit of close reading. She carried both to the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law, earning her J.D. in 2016.
Law school years sharpened those instincts. Her legal education reinforced analytical habits and introduced the routine work of research and writing. She emerged prepared for practice and entered private practice soon after graduation. She joined Wolff Ardis, P.C., where she has continued to build her legal skill set.
At Wolff Ardis, Gelfand has worked on matters that demand careful preparation and clear communication. Colleagues describe her as thorough in preparing briefs and deliberate when explaining complex issues to clients. She balances attention to detail with an ability to place a single case inside a larger factual or legal story. Those strengths mirror the combination of disciplines she studied in college and refined in law school.
Her training in film and political science informs how she approaches a file. Film studies encouraged visual and structural thinking about documents and testimony. Political science reinforced an understanding of institutions and their rules. In practice, that means she pays attention to how a narrative will read to a judge or opposing counsel and how legal rules shape strategic choices. She handles the everyday, often unseen work of litigation and transactional practice: drafting, research, client counseling, and preparation for hearings and negotiations.
Gelfand’s career remains centered on private practice. She continues to work at Wolff Ardis, P.C., where she represents clients and supports the firm’s broader legal work. She lives and practices in the same region where she earned her law degree and keeps a steady focus on clear legal writing and careful case preparation. She currently practices at Wolff Ardis, P.C., serving the firm's clients across its practice areas.
