About Rachael
Rachael Aminu built her legal foundation in Houston. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from the University of Houston–Downtown and entered Texas Southern University Thurgood Marshall School of Law in 2012, completing her J.D. in 2015. Those years in school shaped how she thinks about disputes and the law.
After law school she established her practice in Texas. She is licensed to practice in the state and has worked on matters that bring people into conversation rather than courtrooms. Her training and professional choices reflect an interest in alternative dispute resolution alongside more traditional legal work.
Aminu completed Basic Mediation Training at the University of Houston Law Center and followed that with Advanced Family Mediation Training at the same institution. Those programs added formal mediation skills to her legal training. She applies those tools during settlement discussions, joint meetings and structured negotiation sessions, helping parties explore options and craft agreements that are durable and clear.
She maintains current memberships in professional organizations and stays engaged with continuing education. Colleagues describe her approach as practical and methodical. She often acts as a neutral facilitator in family disputes, but she also advises clients on the legal implications of proposed agreements. That combination—mediation skills plus practical legal counsel—shapes how she manages cases and prepares clients for realistic outcomes.
In practice she frequently handles family-related matters, including parenting plans, custody discussions and negotiation of settlements that touch on property and financial issues. She guides clients through the process of drafting mediated agreements and explains the steps needed to convert those agreements into enforceable orders when required. Her work emphasizes clarity in documentation and careful communication among parties.
As of 2026 she is practicing in Texas, concentrating on family mediation and dispute resolution.
