About R. Scott

R. Scott Anderson earned his Bachelor of Arts and his Juris Doctor from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, completing his law degree in 1983. He built the foundation of his legal knowledge there. The university years set the stage for a long career that has spanned multiple jurisdictions and decades.

He moved into practice after law school and over time took on roles of increasing responsibility. He became a shareholder at Anderson Tobin PLLC, where he has been part of the firm’s leadership. That position has kept him involved in both the day-to-day management of client matters and the broader decisions that shape firm strategy.

Anderson is admitted to practice in Nebraska and Texas, and he is also admitted to appear before the Federal Circuit. He maintains an active membership in the State Bar of Texas. Those credentials have allowed him to take on matters that cross state lines and to appear in federal appellate proceedings when needed.

Colleagues describe him as an experienced courtroom and office presence. He has handled litigation and transactional work over the years. He has seen the legal landscape change and has adapted his approach accordingly, balancing courtroom advocacy with attention to case preparation and client needs.

At Anderson Tobin PLLC, he has taken on both client work and internal firm responsibilities. As a shareholder, he shares in governance tasks and mentors younger lawyers. His role requires judgment on staffing, case strategy and client relations. It also places him in the position of steering important files through trial, negotiation or appeal when required.

His professional affiliations reflect the interstate nature of his practice. His current membership in the State Bar of Texas underscores an active connection to that state’s legal community while his Nebraska admission anchors him to his original legal roots. Admission to the Federal Circuit extends his reach to certain types of federal appeals, and he has used that credential to represent clients in matters that require appellate briefing and argument.

He maintains an office at One Galleria Tower. From there he works with clients and colleagues across jurisdictions. He continues to serve clients in Nebraska, Texas and in cases before the Federal Circuit, and his current practice focuses on representing those clients across those jurisdictions.
