About R. Joseph
R. Joseph Kramer built his path to law on a pair of liberal arts degrees. He earned a B.A. in Philosophy and a B.S. in Psychology from Loyola University Chicago before completing his J.D. at Chicago-Kent College of Law, Illinois Institute of Technology. Those years of study gave him a layered perspective on people and the rules that govern them.
His legal career began in 2012 at Napoli Bern Ripka Shkolnik LLP, where he served first as a law clerk and then as an associate. He moved on in 2014 to TorHoerman Law LLC, taking on responsibilities as a lawyer in a different practice environment. By 2017 Kramer had become a partner at Marc J. Bern & Partners LLP. The next year he launched Kramer Injury Law LLC and has served as its managing lawyer since 2018.
Kramer is licensed to practice in Illinois. Over the years he has stayed active in professional circles. He holds memberships in the Illinois State Bar Association, Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, American Association for Justice and the Chicago Bar Association. Those affiliations are part of how he remains engaged with developments in trial practice and civil litigation.
His work history has centered on plaintiff-side civil litigation, and his practice record shows a steady progression from clerkship duty to leadership of a small firm. The progression reflects hands-on courtroom exposure and case management across multiple offices and teams. He has experience in client intake and case preparation, and he has carried cases through litigation while overseeing firm operations.
Colleagues describe Kramer as methodical in legal preparation and direct in client communication. He aims for clarity in explaining legal options and practical next steps. He also spends time mentoring junior lawyers and supervising investigative and discovery work in active cases.
Kramer Injury Law LLC is his current professional base. There he manages a team and handles the firm’s caseload. He continues to accept cases and represent clients in matters filed in Illinois state courts. As of 2026 he practices at Kramer Injury Law LLC, handling personal injury matters in Illinois.
