About R. Jonathan
R. Jonathan Franco began his academic journey at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, where he completed a Bachelor of Science in 2007. He majored in political science and took a minor in English, a combination that helped shape his interest in law and public affairs. He later earned his Juris Doctor from Mississippi College School of Law in 2013.
He entered legal practice soon after law school. In 2013 he joined Denham Law Office, PLLC as an associate. That early stretch gave him hands-on experience in courtroom procedure and client advocacy. By 2017 he had advanced to a leadership role as partner and lawyer at Haug & Farrar, PLLC. The firm listing now appears as Haug, Farrar & Franco, PLLC, reflecting his role in its current structure.
Franco has also taken on community and professional responsibilities outside the office. In 2014 he served as President Elect of the Rotary Club of Ocean Springs. He has been active in state and national trial lawyer organizations since 2013. He serves on the Board of Governors for the Mississippi Association for Justice and has held the post of Treasurer of its New Lawyers Division. He is a member of the American Association for Justice and the Southern Trial Lawyers Association, memberships that keep him connected to developments in litigation practice and trial advocacy.
His practice spans both state and federal venues. He is admitted to practice in Mississippi and is authorized in the Fifth Circuit. That combination allows him to move cases through a range of court systems. Colleagues describe him as someone who prefers direct preparation and constant attention to procedural detail. He spends time preparing cases for trial and handling motions and appeals when they arise.
Clients and peers who have worked with him note that he balances courtroom readiness with the practical demands of case management. He has experience in litigation from early case assessment through post-trial matters. He also remains involved in professional education and governance through his roles in the Mississippi Association for Justice and other trial lawyer groups.
Today he practices as a partner at Haug, Farrar & Franco, PLLC, where he represents clients in litigation matters in Mississippi and in the Fifth Circuit.
