About Purav
Purav Bhatt began an unusual academic path that combined psychology, computer science and law. He completed a B.S. in psychology at Loyola University Chicago and went on to earn an M.S. in computer science from DePaul University. He later studied law at Chicago-Kent College of Law. Those three disciplines have informed his approach to courtroom work and case preparation.
After law school he entered public service. In 2008 he joined the Cook County office as an Assistant State's Lawyer, where he handled prosecutions and learned the mechanics of trial work. That early period put him in court regularly and gave him practical experience with case strategy, evidence and courtroom procedure. He left the courthouse bench a few years later to launch his own practice.
In 2011 he established The Law Office of Purav Bhatt and took on the role of principal lawyer. Running a small firm required him to combine client counseling with the operational side of practice. He manages intake and case development while overseeing litigation and court appearances. The switch from a government role to private practice allowed him to handle a broader range of matters and to represent clients directly.
Bhatt maintains professional affiliations that reflect his courtroom experience. He holds memberships in the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the National Trial Lawyers Association. He is also active in local bar groups, including the Cook County Bar Association, the Illinois Bar Association and the Chicago Bar Association. His credentials list membership in several federal district bars: the Northern District of Illinois, the Eastern District of Wisconsin and the Central District of Illinois.
Colleagues describe him as methodical in preparing cases and straightforward in court. His technical background in computer science shapes the way he organizes discovery and evaluates digital evidence. The earlier study of psychology informs his client interviews and helps him assess witness testimony.
Bhatt maintains an office on the South Side of Chicago. He continues to accept cases from the region and appears in both state and federal courts. His practice centers on courtroom representation and litigation management, and he operates The Law Office of Purav Bhatt from his Chicago office where he handles trial work and client counseling.
