About Peter William

Peter William Green took a steady, conventional path into the law. He finished his undergraduate studies at the State University of New York at Albany in 1999 and went on to earn his J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law in 2006. Those academic years set the groundwork for a career split between bench service and private practice.

After law school he entered practice in the New York–New Jersey region. He is admitted to practice in both New York and New Jersey, which has allowed him to work on matters that cross state lines and to serve clients in adjoining jurisdictions. He has balanced courtroom work with office-based practice, developing an understanding of the procedural differences that can matter from one state to the next.

In 2015 he was appointed Town Justice for the Town of Wallkill Justice Court. In that role he presided over proceedings at the local level and handled the everyday administration that keeps a municipal court functioning. The position put him at the center of community disputes and routine criminal and traffic matters for a period, and it added a layer of judicial experience to his record.

He has maintained professional membership since 2007. That ongoing connection to a professional organization has kept him involved with peers and aware of developments in court practice and procedure. Beyond that long-term membership, his career has been shaped by steady local involvement rather than by appearances on high-profile dockets.

Colleagues describe him as methodical in court and practical at counsel table. He has balanced the demands of a municipal judgeship and private practice, shifting between case management, client consultation and courtroom responsibilities as circumstances required. Those transitions have informed how he manages files and prepares evidence and witnesses when matters proceed to hearing or trial.

Today he practices law in the New York and New Jersey area. He continues to handle matters from his office and to appear in courts across the two states, combining judicial experience and private practice work in his ongoing legal career.
