About Peter J.

Peter J. Towne earned his B.A. from Indiana University in 2004 and continued his legal training at New England Law | Boston, where he received his J.D. in 2009. He moved from the Midwest to New England for law school and completed his legal education in Boston, a city with a dense network of courts and legal institutions. The academic path he chose provided grounding in both doctrinal study and practical skills offered by a law school situated in an active legal community.

After law school, Towne secured admission to practice in Massachusetts and later gained admission to the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts. Those admissions allow him to represent clients in both state and federal venues within the commonwealth. Over the years he has built a practice that operates under the rules and procedures of these courts, aligning his work with the filing, motion, and hearing schedules familiar to litigators in the region.

Towne’s early professional experience came amid a legal market that rewards careful preparation and courtroom poise. He has worked on matters that required attention to procedural detail and an ability to move cases through local dockets. His training at New England Law | Boston followed by bar admission positioned him to navigate filings, discovery processes, and the pacing of litigation in Massachusetts. Those elements are part of the practical day-to-day of his legal work.

Clients and colleagues describe him as methodical in approach and direct in communication. He tends to favor clear written submissions and practical planning over lengthy rhetoric. In meetings and in court, he aims to set realistic timelines and to anticipate scheduling pressures. He has maintained professional relationships in the Boston legal community that support case preparation and courtroom readiness.

Outside of formal court appearances, Towne has used his academic background to mentor newer attorneys and to assist clients in understanding complex procedural issues. He can translate technical rules into actionable steps, an ability that helps clients make informed decisions about settlement, trial preparation, or case management.

Today, Towne remains active in Massachusetts legal practice and is authorized to appear before the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts. His current practice centers on matters in Massachusetts state and federal courts.
