About Peter H.

Peter H. Noone built a legal foundation at Princeton and Suffolk. He earned a B.A. from Princeton University in 1992 and completed his J.D. at Suffolk University in 1995. Those years set the course for a career spent largely in Massachusetts courts and advising public safety organizations.

He is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and has maintained memberships in several professional organizations. He belongs to the Massachusetts Bar Association and the Cambridge-Belmont Bar Association. Nationally, he holds membership in the American Bar Association and the Defense Research Institute. Over the years he has taken on roles as general legal counsel for groups tied to law enforcement and public safety, including the Massachusetts Association of Women in Law Enforcement, the Irish American Police Officers Association, the Massachusetts Communication Officers Association, and the New England Crisis Negotiators Association.

Noone’s work blends litigation and advisory tasks. He appears in civil matters and engages in the practical legal work that agencies and officers need day to day. He handles questions about liability, policy, and training. He also advises on issues that arise during emergency responses and crisis negotiations. His association work has kept him in close contact with current operational concerns faced by public safety professionals.

Colleagues describe his approach as steady and pragmatic. He often prepares policies, assists in internal reviews, and provides counsel during post-incident inquiries. He has sat in on training sessions and offered legal guidance intended to reduce exposure to claims. His memberships in defense and bar groups suggest regular interaction with trial lawyers and municipal counsel. That interaction informs the advice he gives to both individual officers and organizational clients.

Outside representation, Noone has been involved in the procedural side of practice through bar and association participation. He attends meetings and contributes to discussions on law enforcement practices and communications issues. Those settings provide a forum for exchanging ideas about evolving standards and emerging legal risks.

He currently practices at Averly Dooley & Noone, LLP. His practice concentrates on civil defense litigation, advising law enforcement and public safety organizations, and related regulatory and liability matters.
