This military experience instilled in him a commitment to service that would later extend to his legal career. Following his time in the Navy, Peter pursued higher education, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Geology from California State University, Humboldt State University, in 1982. His academic journey did not stop there; he later obtained his Juris Doctor in 2002 and a Master of Laws in Taxation in 2003 from Golden Gate University School of Law. Peter was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in November 2002, followed by admission to the State Bar of California in July 2003 and the District of Columbia Bar in October 2003. His dedication to helping those in need is evident through his provision of pro bono legal services to clients referred by the Lone Star Legal Aid Service. This involvement reflects his belief in giving back to the community and supporting vulnerable populations. Outside of his professional life, Peter enjoys personal pursuits that enrich his life. He is currently renovating his historic home in Tyler, a project that reflects his appreciation for history and craftsmanship.

Traveling with his wife, Dr. Stasha Gominak, a retired clinical neurologist, is another focus.
