Paul Nathan Puri studied comparative literature at the University of California, Davis before shifting to the study of law. He completed his undergraduate degree in 1992 and earned his J.D. from the University of the Pacific in 1996. The sequence suggests a patient, deliberate change in direction. It also left him with an unusual combination: a background in close reading and the formal training of a lawyer.
After law school Puri entered private practice. Records show he established Puri Law Offices in 2003 and has operated as lawyer and owner since then.
