About Paul M.

Paul M. Marriett built a path to the law that began in the Midwest. He completed two Bachelor of Arts degrees at Western Illinois University, earning credentials in political science and in philosophy. He then earned his Juris Doctor from Florida Coastal School of Law in 2011.

After law school, Marriett established a practice that spans two state jurisdictions. He is licensed to practice in both Florida and Illinois. Early in his career he worked on a mix of matters that exposed him to courtroom work and client counseling. Those experiences shaped how he approaches case preparation and courtroom presentation.

Marriett has maintained a professional interest in criminal defense. He joined the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers in 2015 and has remained a member since. That affiliation places him among lawyers who follow developments in criminal law and trial practice. He attends professional programs and stays current on changes to criminal statutes and procedure.

Colleagues and clients describe him as direct in court and deliberate in planning. He tends to prepare cases thoroughly. He balances investigative work with legal research and prefers to test factual claims early. That method can narrow disputes and clarify where legal arguments will matter most. In hearings and motion practice he focuses on clear presentation and precise citation.

Outside the courtroom he handles the practical paperwork that arises in a small practice. He manages filings, client communications, and the day-to-day steps that move a case forward. That hands-on approach means he often guides a matter from intake through resolution.

Marriett opened The Law Office of Paul Marriett to offer a local option for clients who need counsel in either state. The office serves people with matters that require attention to both procedural detail and courtroom strategy. He continues to take cases that involve contested hearings and trials as well as negotiated resolutions where those are appropriate.

His record shows steady professional involvement and a practice shaped by both education and courtroom work. He maintains active bar registrations in Florida and Illinois and remains an active member of a national criminal defense association. His current practice focuses on matters across Florida and Illinois.
