About Paul D.

Paul D. Sullivan built a steady legal foundation before he ever took on his first client. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from the University of Montana in 2000 and went on to receive his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 2005. Those years shaped his approach to legal reasoning and rounded out a path that led him back to practice in the Mountain West.

His career in private practice began a few years after law school. In 2008 he opened The Law Office of Paul Sullivan, handling intake, case management and courtroom work as a solo practitioner. Two years later he joined Measure Law Office, P.C. as a partner, a move that shifted his daily work from operating a one-person shop to collaborating inside a firm environment. The transition brought new administrative duties and a different client mix, while keeping litigation and court appearances central to his calendar.

Sullivan is admitted to practice in Montana and before the Ninth Circuit. That combination reflects a practice that crosses trial and appellate lines. Over the years he has handled matters in both state and federal trial courts and has prepared filings for appellate review. His courtroom work and appellate filings show familiarity with procedural rules at multiple levels of the judiciary.

Running his own firm early in his career shaped how he approaches client relationships. He managed every stage of cases, from initial consultation through settlement discussions and trial preparation. As a partner at Measure Law Office, P.C., he continued those responsibilities but shared them with colleagues, bringing a collaborative element to strategy and case staffing. Colleagues and clients have relied on his steady handling of deadlines and the routine pressures of litigation practice.

Outside of court, Sullivan’s academic background in philosophy informs the way he frames legal questions and prepares arguments. The training helps when sorting complex facts and anticipating counterarguments. It also influences how he explains legal issues to clients, aiming for clarity and practical choices rather than legalese.

He practices law at Measure Law Office, P.C., and his work concentrates on representing clients in Montana and handling matters before the Ninth Circuit.
