About Paul A
Paul A Barrera earned a J.D. and an MBA from Seattle University in 2016. He completed his undergraduate work at Seattle University as well, receiving a B.A. in History in 2007. That combination of legal and business education shaped the early arc of his professional life.
After law school he established his own practice. In 2017 he founded North City Law, PC and has served as the firm’s principal since then. He is licensed to practice in Washington and has built the firm around serving business clients and individuals who need practical legal advice.
At North City Law Barrera handles a mix of matters commonly seen at small firms. The office works on business-related issues, advising clients on entity matters and commercial concerns while also responding to civil disputes when they arise. He has kept the firm lean, preferring to handle key aspects of a matter himself and bringing in outside resources when a case requires specialized expertise.
Barrera remains active in professional organizations. He is a member of the Latina/o Bar Association of Washington and sits on its Judicial Evaluation Committee. He also serves the Washington State Bar Association as the Young Lawyer Liaison to the Business Law Section. Those roles involve working with peers and the bench on matters that affect the practice of law and the civic duties of lawyers.
Colleagues describe him as practical and approachable in client settings, a lawyer who explains options plainly and sets clear expectations. He draws on his MBA when advising on transactions and on business structure questions. The combined degrees inform how he evaluates risk and advises clients about long-term implications.
Barrera’s work has a local orientation. He focuses on matters that affect small and mid-sized enterprises and the people who run them. He founded North City Law to provide that kind of day-to-day business counsel and continues to lead the firm.
His current practice centers on business law and related matters for small and mid-sized clients.
