About Patti
Patti Spencer built a career that bridges corporate trust management and small-firm practice. She began her academic path at Dickinson College, where she completed a B.A. in 1972. She went on to earn both a J.D. and an LL.M. from Boston University, preparing herself for work that mixes technical trust matters with direct client service.
Her professional life moved into specialized trust work. In 1992 she became head of the Personal Trust Department at Fulton Bank. The role put her in charge of trust administration operations and required close coordination with fiduciaries, corporate trustees, and outside counsel. It was a leadership position that combined administrative oversight with legal judgment on trust interpretation and estate settlement issues.
Four years later she opened her own practice. In 1996 she established Spencer Law Office. The shift from a bank environment to private practice changed her day-to-day work. She moved from managing a department to representing individuals and families, and advising trustees and executors on practical and legal questions that arise during administration and planning. Running a small firm also meant taking on the business tasks that come with ownership: client intake, case management, and local professional networking.
Spencer maintains an active presence in the Pennsylvania legal community. She holds membership in the Pennsylvania State Bar and has continued that association while working in private practice. Her background in both institutional trust administration and private representation gives her a vantage point that many clients find useful when they need plain answers about complex fiduciary duties or the steps involved in probate and estate settlement.
Colleagues and clients see her as someone who translates technical documents into clear next steps. She often handles matters that require careful reading of trust instruments and coordination among multiple parties. Her past work at a bank informs how she approaches accountings, oversight and communication among beneficiaries and trustees. She still practices from the Spencer Law Office, where she provides advice and representation on trust and estate matters. She maintains a private practice handling trust and estate matters, including estate planning, trust administration and probate.
