About Patrick

Patrick Serowka built his legal foundation after a roundabout course through economics and law. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics from DePaul University in 1997. Nearly a decade later he returned to school and received his J.D. from John Marshall Law School in 2006.

After law school, Serowka took the steps required to practice in Illinois. He is admitted to the Illinois bar and has maintained his practice in the state. He has been involved in the day-to-day work of representing clients, preparing filings, and appearing in court over the years. His background in economics informs his view of cases that involve financial or business aspects.

Colleagues describe him as methodical at the desk and straightforward in the courtroom. He approaches cases by breaking issues down into discrete elements and then addressing each one through research and evidence. That approach has guided his work on a range of matters handled in state venues. He also keeps an eye on procedural detail, which often shapes how a case unfolds long before trial.

Serowka maintains current membership in professional associations. He stays connected to the legal community through those groups and by following developments in Illinois law. Continuing education and peer contact are part of how he keeps current on shifting rules and precedent.

Clients who work with him encounter an attorney who explains legal options in plain language. He frames choices, highlights possible outcomes, and outlines next steps. He does not rely on jargon. That way, people can make informed decisions about settlements, filings, or trial strategy.

Outside the office he has drawn on his economics background when evaluating disputes that involve financial questions. That training helps him sift through documents, understand business records, and spot issues that affect damages or liability. He applies those skills while preparing cases for hearing and trial.

He currently practices law in Illinois, providing counsel to clients on a range of state law matters.
