About Patrick R.
Patrick R. Anstead completed his undergraduate studies at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, earning a B.A. in Political Science. He remained in the state for law school and received his J.D. from North Carolina Central University School of Law in 2014. His academic path combined classroom study with practical training, preparing him for immediate entry into legal practice.
After law school, Anstead joined The Richardson Firm as a lawyer in 2014. That same year he became a member of the North Carolina State Bar and of the North Carolina Advocates for Justice. He has maintained those memberships through the present. From 2020 through 2022 he served on the Board of Directors of the Cumberland County Bar Association, taking part in local bar governance and community events while developing his courtroom and client-side experience.
Colleagues describe Anstead as steady and organized. He has handled matters that require attention to procedural detail and client communication. He appears in state forums and handles filings and hearings on behalf of clients. He also works on case preparation, from investigation through trial readiness. The particular matters he manages vary, but his work emphasizes clear explanation and practical next steps for the people he represents.
Outside the courtroom, Anstead has engaged with professional organizations to stay current on changing practice rules and case law. His time on the Cumberland County Bar Association board exposed him to the administrative side of local legal practice. Membership in statewide organizations has kept him linked to developments affecting litigation and advocacy across North Carolina.
Today Anstead remains an active member of the North Carolina bar and continues to practice at The Richardson Firm. He handles filings, court appearances, and client counseling in matters brought in North Carolina courts. His current practice focuses on representing clients in state legal matters and advising them through each stage of the legal process.
