About Patrick
Patrick McMenamin built a legal career that moves between public service and private practice. He earned a law degree from Widener University Delaware School of Law in 1987 after completing a business management degree at Washington College in 1983. He spent time at Oxford University in 1988 and attended LaSalle College High School earlier in his education.
He entered legal work in Montgomery County soon after law school. In 1990 he served as an assistant district lawyer in the Montgomery County District Lawyer’s Office. That early stint in public prosecution gave him courtroom experience and exposure to case preparation under pressure. He transitioned to private practice in the early 1990s, taking associate roles that broadened his day-to-day responsibilities.
In 1993 he joined O’Brien & Ryan as an associate. Two years later he moved to a private practice position in Montgomeryville, Pennsylvania. Those years shaped his approach to client representation. He learned to manage caseloads, work with clients on practical options, and handle litigation from initial filings through resolution.
In 2010 McMenamin helped found McMenamin & Margiotti, where he serves as a managing partner. Establishing a firm changed his role. He began overseeing operations and mentoring younger lawyers while maintaining an active caseload. The firm’s practice reflects the kinds of matters he handled earlier in his career, and it operates out of Pennsylvania.
His career path shows a steady progression from government prosecutor to private-sector lawyer and firm leader. The mix of public and private work means he is familiar with courtroom rhythms and the administrative side of running a law office.
