About Patrick L.
Patrick L. McCune built his legal foundation in Louisiana. He earned a B.A. from Louisiana State University in 2003, then completed both an MBA and a J.D. in 2008 at Louisiana State University and the Paul M. Hebert Law Center of Louisiana State University, respectively. Those years set the stage for work that moved quickly from the courthouse to private practice.
Early in his career McCune served in a sequence of federal clerkships. In 2008 he clerked for the Louisiana Supreme Court. The next year he worked as a law clerk for the United States District Court for the Western District of Louisiana. In 2010 he spent a year in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Mississippi. Those positions gave him direct exposure to judicial decision-making and federal court procedures.
He entered private practice after the clerkships. In 2011 he joined Jones Walker LLP as a lawyer. He later joined Adams and Reese LLP in 2015 and continued to practice at regional and national firms. He currently works at Wiener, Weiss & Madison, A Professional Corporation, where he serves as a lawyer.
McCune is admitted to practice in Florida, Mississippi, Texas and Louisiana. He holds current bar memberships in the Louisiana State Bar Association, The Florida Bar, The Mississippi Bar and the State Bar of Texas. Those memberships reflect a regional practice footprint and the ability to represent clients across several state systems.
The early federal placements shaped the kinds of matters he handles. The bankruptcy clerkship provided hands-on experience with insolvency procedures, while work in the district and state courts deepened his familiarity with civil litigation practice. In private practice he has handled matters that draw on those experiences, including contested proceedings in state and federal forums.
He has balanced work at larger firms with roles in smaller, regional settings. That mix allowed him to represent corporate and business clients and to address litigation and case-management tasks from intake through trial preparation. He has remained in active practice and continued to develop courtroom experience and transactional awareness.
McCune now practices at Wiener, Weiss & Madison, A Professional Corporation. His practice centers on business and commercial litigation and insolvency matters.
