About Patrick James

Patrick James Schaeffer earned his law degree from Dickinson School of Law after completing a Bachelor of Arts in history and political science at Albright College in 2008. That combination of disciplines left him comfortable with both legal doctrine and the broader political and historical context in which disputes arise. He moved from the classroom into practice a few years later and has remained in Pennsylvania ever since.

He began working at Trinity Law in 2012. The position put him into day-to-day client work early in his career. Over time he took on a range of responsibilities within the firm, handling matters brought by local individuals and businesses. He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and has continued to base his work in the state.

Schaeffer has been a member of the York County Bar Association since 2012. That affiliation has kept him connected to peers in the local legal community and to the procedural and substantive developments that affect practice in county courts. Outside of that, he maintains the professional ties typical of a lawyer whose career has been centered on regional practice rather than national profiles.

Colleagues describe his approach as practical and thorough. He tends to break complex problems into discrete steps, then work through each one. That method reflects his academic training in history, where attention to sequence matters, and political science, where institutions and rules shape outcomes. It also fits the steady casework expected of attorneys at small and mid-size firms.

At Trinity Law he has worked on matters presented by clients across the firm’s local offices. Day-to-day responsibilities have included client counseling, drafting pleadings and agreements, and representing clients in hearings and negotiations. He has built experience by steady involvement rather than through headline cases. His work is grounded in the routines of litigation and transactional practice that keep local courthouses and businesses moving.

Schaeffer lives and practices in Pennsylvania and remains active in the York County Bar Association. He currently practices at Trinity Law and handles legal matters in Pennsylvania.
