About Parag L.

Parag L. Amin studied finance and law on two coasts. He earned a B.S. in finance from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2004 and went on to receive a J.D. from the University of Southern California in 2008. Those academic years laid a foundation of technical training and legal coursework that shaped the early years of his practice.

After law school, Amin built experience in both firm and solo settings. In 2012 he worked as a contract lawyer for several national and regional firms, including Foley & Lardner, O'Melveny & Myers LLP, and DLA Piper. That same year he established his own practice and became principal of the Law Office of Parag L. Amin. The move marked a shift from short-term, firm-based engagements to managing client matters under his own banner.

His career path shows a mix of private firm exposure and independent practice. As a contract lawyer he handled assignments inside larger firms, supporting litigation and transactional teams on discrete projects. Running his own office required a different set of tasks: intake, case management, client counseling and the routine business work that keeps a small practice functioning. Colleagues and clients have noted that those two modes of work demand different rhythms and skill sets.

Amin is licensed to practice in California and is admitted to appear before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He is a current member of the State Bar of California and also belongs to the Los Angeles County Bar Association. Membership in those organizations places him in regular contact with local court developments and the bar community.

Over the years he has balanced contract assignments with the responsibilities of running his own firm. That balance has allowed him to continue courtroom and appellate work while maintaining a private practice in Los Angeles. His work involves preparing filings, managing discovery and appearing in court when matters require advocacy.

Today Amin operates the Law Office of Parag L. Amin, PC. He accepts matters in California and handles appeals in the Ninth Circuit, continuing to manage both casework and the administrative side of a small law office. He currently focuses his practice on litigation and appellate work in California and the Ninth Circuit.
