About Pamela

Pamela Purdy earned her law degree from American University Washington College of Law in 2000 after completing undergraduate studies in English and Women’s Studies at the University of Richmond in 1996. She moved from liberal arts into law in a steady progression, completing formal legal education at the end of the 1990s and entering practice soon after.

Her early legal work included a clerkship at the Superior Court of Pennsylvania. That role gave her direct exposure to appellate procedures and judicial decision-making. Before and after the clerkship she worked in litigation support, including a stint as a tobacco litigation paralegal at Hunton and Williams. In 2001 she joined McNees Wallace & Nurick LLC as an associate, where she handled a range of matters and sharpened trial and courtroom skills.

Purdy’s career took a clear turn toward family and domestic relations law over time. She served as Custody Conference Officer in the Dauphin County Court of Common Pleas from 2009 through 2015. She also serves as Paternity Counsel for the Dauphin County Domestic Relations Office, a role that involves advising the office on legal issues arising in paternity and support matters. Those positions put her regularly in the county courthouse and in front of judges, magistrates and court staff.

She has been active in local and national professional organizations. She is a member of the Pennsylvania State Bar and the Collaborative Professionals of Central Pennsylvania. She belongs to the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals and has served as a barrister in the Honorable William W. Lipsitt Inn of Court. She has also served as chair of the Dauphin County Bar Association, taking part in bar events and local legal education efforts.

Purdy practices from Purdy Law Office, LLC, where she handles cases that arise out of family courts and domestic relations matters. Her background spans appellate clerkship, litigation support and front-line work in county domestic relations offices. That combination shapes how she approaches cases and clients. She is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania and currently concentrates her practice on family law and domestic relations work.
