About P. Lindley
P. Lindley Bain built a foundation in languages and international studies before turning to law. She graduated from Austin College in 2002 with a B.A. in Spanish and International Studies, earning honors. She then attended Southern Methodist University, completing both a J.D. at SMU Dedman School of Law and an MBA in Finance in 2007.
After law school she joined Goranson Bain Ausley in 2007. Her practice developed around family law matters, where she has handled litigation, negotiation, and collaborative cases. She is licensed to practice in Texas and has concentrated her work on issues that commonly arise in family courts: custody, support, property division, and related disputes. She also participates in collaborative divorce processes and alternative dispute resolution in place of trial when appropriate.
Bain is board certified in family law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. That credential reflects specialized training and testing in the subject and signals a sustained practice in family law. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, an organization that brings together lawyers who practice matrimonial and family law across the country.
Her involvement in professional groups spans local, state, national, and international organizations. She holds memberships in the State Bar of Texas and its Family Law and Collaborative Law Section, the Texas Academy of Family Law Specialists, and the Texas Family Law Foundation. She is active in both the Austin and Dallas bar communities, including the Austin Bar Association, the Dallas Bar Association, and their respective young lawyers groups. She participates in collaborative organizations such as Collaborative Divorce Texas and the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals. Bain is also a member of the Annette Stewart Inn of Court and the Mac Taylor Inn of Court, forums that focus on mentoring and professional development.
Her training and memberships reflect a practice that blends courtroom work and negotiated settlements. Clients and peers encounter a lawyer who balances technical knowledge of family law with the procedural demands of court. She has maintained a steady presence at Goranson Bain Ausley since joining the firm.
She continues to practice family law in Texas, handling both contested and collaborative matters at Goranson Bain Ausley and related professional settings.
