About Orion
Orion Armon built a career at the crossroads of law and technology. He earned a J.D. in 2003 from The University of Texas School of Law, where he studied intellectual property law. Before that he completed a B.A. in political science at the University of Colorado Boulder in 1997. Those academic anchors shaped an early interest in how legal rules apply to technical innovation.
He began his professional life outside the courtroom. In 1997 he worked as a consultant at Accenture, where he advised on business and technology projects. After law school he moved into private practice. He joined Cooley Godward LLP as an associate in 2003 and later served as a partner at Cooley LLP. That path put him in the middle of patent disputes, appeals and regulatory work that often blend legal argument with technical detail.
Armon is admitted in Colorado and holds registrations and admissions that support a national IP practice. He is registered with the United States Patent & Trademark Office and admits to practice before the Federal Circuit. He also has litigation admissions in the U.S. District Courts for the District of Colorado and both the Eastern and Western Districts of Texas, and he is admitted to the U.S. Supreme Court. These credentials allow him to move cases from trial courts to appellate review and to handle contested proceedings before the Patent Office.
His practice emphasizes patent litigation and patent office proceedings. He handles contested matters that include district-court claims and appeals at the Federal Circuit. The mix of courtroom and agency work requires translating technical issues into legal arguments. His earlier consulting background gives him familiarity with the operational and commercial angles that often surface in IP disputes.
Colleagues describe him as methodical and fact-oriented in preparing cases. He is an active member of the Colorado State Bar. He has experience drafting pleadings, briefing appeals, and handling inter partes review and other contested Patent Office proceedings. He currently practices at Cooley LLP, where his work centers on patent litigation, appeals, and proceedings before the Patent Office.
