About Omar
Omar Almanzar-Paramio began his academic path at Cornell University, where he completed a Bachelor of Science in 2000. He went on to earn his J.D. from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in 2004. Those years in Ithaca and New York City set the groundwork for a career split between public service and private practice.
He entered public service shortly after law school. In 2007 he served as an Assistant District Lawyer at the Suffolk County District Lawyer's Office. That role placed him in courtrooms and in charge of case preparation, giving him front-line experience in criminal matters and courtroom procedure. He moved into private practice work in 2012 as an associate at Clausen Miller, where he handled a range of civil litigation tasks and contributed to trial preparation and client counseling.
In 2013 he founded Almanzar-Paramio Law, LLC and has been the firm's owner and lead lawyer since. Running a small firm changed the scope of his work. He took on case management, client intake, and the business side of law alongside courtroom responsibilities. The transition allowed him to tailor services to individual clients and to oversee strategy from filing to resolution.
Over the years his work has centered on litigation and trial practice. He has handled matters that required motion practice, evidentiary hearings, and settlement negotiations. That mix of public and private experience gave him familiarity with both prosecutorial procedure and defense strategy, as well as civil litigation dynamics from the claimant and respondent perspectives.
He is admitted to practice in New York. Outside the office he has maintained professional contacts and memberships in local legal circles. He has balanced courtroom appearances with office work and client meetings, often handling several stages of a case personally rather than delegating them.
Today his firm operates under the name Almanzar-Paramio Law, LLC. He continues to represent clients in matters arising in New York courts, focusing his practice on litigation and trial-related work in state venues.
