About OlaDipo A

OlaDipo A Akin-Deko brings an analytical mind to his work and an unusual educational path for a lawyer. He began in sports and leisure studies before moving into law. That range of study has shaped how he approaches disputes and client relationships.

He earned a B.S. in Sports & Leisure Studies from the University of Memphis in 1998. He completed his J.D. at Texas Southern University in 2003 and followed that with an LL.M. in Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution from The George Washington University Law School in 2006. Those degrees reflect an early interest in contested matters and in the processes that resolve them.

He is admitted to practice in Maryland, Virginia and Texas, and he holds admission in the District of Columbia. He also has authorization to appear before multiple federal courts, including the D.C. Circuit, the 10th Circuit and the 4th Circuit. The multi-jurisdictional admissions let him pursue cases that cross state lines and involve federal appellate work.

Professional organizations have been a sustained part of his career. He joined the DC Bar in 2008 and the Prince George’s County Bar Association in 2009. He has been a member of the Texas Young Lawyers Division since 2007. Since 2011 he has served as a principal and director on a board, a role he continues to hold. He also has been active in the American Bar Association Young Lawyers Division, serving as Vice Chair of the Practice Management Section since 2011. He maintains membership in Sigma Delta Tau Legal Fraternity since 2014.

In practice he has taken on management responsibilities alongside legal work. He serves as a managing lawyer, overseeing case handling and day-to-day office operations while also engaging in litigation and dispute resolution activity. Colleagues describe him as methodical in courtroom preparation and direct in client counseling. His academic training in alternative dispute resolution informs how he evaluates settlement opportunities and designs negotiation strategies.

His career combines courtroom work, appellate filings and an emphasis on effective practice systems. He balances case-specific work with administrative oversight and bar service. His current practice concentrates on litigation and alternative dispute resolution.
