About Nika
Nika Gholston earned a B.S. in biology from Alabama A&M University in 2001 and a J.D. from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in 2005. Her academic path combined a science undergraduate degree with legal training, a background that shaped how she approaches problem solving and casework.
After law school she built a practice that spans two states. She has been active in Georgia professional circles since 2007 and joined the Alabama bar community in 2015. Those memberships have run alongside private practice and alternative dispute resolution work.
Gholston established Nika Gholston Law LLC, where she serves as principal lawyer and mediator. Her work as a mediator complements her litigation and negotiation work. She has handled matters that require both courtroom preparation and settlement facilitation, moving between roles depending on client needs.
Her involvement in professional organizations reflects the areas she has concentrated on. She was a fellow in the American Bar Association’s Family Law Section from 2016 to 2018. She remains a member of the Alabama State Bar and the Georgia Bar Association. Those affiliations have given her access to continuing legal education and peer networks that inform her practice.
Colleagues describe her approach as methodical. She pays attention to procedural detail and to client goals. In cases that touch on family dynamics, she combines legal analysis with mediation tools to help parties find workable outcomes. Her dual roles—advocate and neutral facilitator—allow her to shift strategies when circumstances demand.
Gholston’s practice has evolved over time, shaped by experience in two state jurisdictions and by work in both contested matters and negotiated resolutions. She continues to lead her firm from its current base, taking on client work and serving as a mediator in private sessions and court-ordered matters. She currently practices family law and mediation at Nika Gholston Law LLC.
