About Nick

Nick Benjamin earned his J.D. from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville in 2010 after completing a B.A. at Mars Hill College in 2003. He followed a conventional path from undergraduate study to law school and entered the legal profession in the years that followed. His academic record placed him among a generation of lawyers who entered practice in the early 2010s.

Early in his career Benjamin served as an Assistant District Lawyer in the Buncombe County District Lawyer's Office in 2013. In that role he appeared in local courtrooms and handled matters on behalf of the state. The position gave him practical courtroom experience and routine exposure to the procedures of North Carolina state courts.

After his time in the district lawyer's office he moved into private practice. He now operates Benjamin Law, PLLC. At his firm he handles a range of matters for clients in the area. The move from public service to private practice allowed him to shift from representing the state to representing individuals and entities in their legal needs.

Benjamin is licensed to practice in North Carolina. He maintains memberships in professional organizations and participates in the legal community there. His background in a county prosecutor's office informs how he prepares cases and presents them in court, and it shapes the way he evaluates risk and strategy for clients.

His office work blends litigation preparation, court appearances and client counseling. He spends time behind the scenes drafting pleadings and preparing evidence. He also spends time in courtrooms handling hearings and trials. Colleagues describe him as thorough in file preparation and attentive to procedural detail.

He continues to practice through Benjamin Law, PLLC, representing clients in matters that arise in North Carolina state courts. His present practice concentrates on representation in North Carolina state courts.
