About Nicholas Stevens

Nicholas Stevens Dubrowsky built his legal foundation in two different regions of the country. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Economics from Boston College in 2000. Four years later he graduated from the University of Miami School of Law with a J.D. in 2004. Those academic years set the stage for a practice shaped by public service and courtroom exposure.

Early in his career Dubrowsky gathered hands-on experience in several government offices. In 2005 he worked as a legal intern at the Miami-Dade County Public Defender’s Office. The following year he served as a certified legal intern at the Queens County District Lawyer’s Office and also worked as a law clerk at The Law Offices of Alan Weinstein, Esq. That mix of public defender work and clerkship duties gave him exposure to litigation, client interviews and case preparation.

By 2008 he moved into an agency role, working as an agency lawyer for New York City Children’s Services. That position placed him inside the administrative side of child welfare. He handled matters that required coordination with social workers, court filings and hearings. The casework there provided a different perspective from his earlier public defender and clerkship roles.

Throughout his professional life Dubrowsky has maintained ties to the New York legal community. He holds membership in the New York Bar Association since 2007. He joined the New York City Bar Association and the New York County Lawyers Association in 2009. In 2010 he added memberships in the Brooklyn Bar Association and the Queens County Bar Association. These affiliations reflect steady participation in local bar activities and professional networks.

Work across public defender offices, a district lawyer’s office, a private law clerkship and an agency post has given Dubrowsky practical familiarity with both criminal and family-related proceedings. He has written court documents, supported trial preparation and participated in administrative hearings. His career shows a pattern of roles that intersect client advocacy, court procedure and agency processes.

Based in New York, Dubrowsky continues to practice law in the state. His current work draws on his background in child welfare matters and criminal defense–area experience accumulated during internships and agency work. He practices in New York, handling matters that reflect that combination of public-sector and litigation experience.
