About Nicholas J.

Nicholas J. LaFountain built his legal foundation at Roger Williams University, earning a B.S. in 1997, and then moved on to Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University where he completed his J.D. in 2004. He entered practice at a time when courtroom procedure and local court relationships mattered as much as legal doctrine. Those early years shaped how he approaches the work every day.

Right after law school he took on a managing role at the Law Offices of Ara H. Margosian II, P.C. in 2004. That position placed him in the middle of case management and client work while he learned the practical demands of running a small firm. Six years later he became a partner at LaFountain & Wollman, P.C., a move that formalized his leadership role and tied his name to a practice that has operated in the Massachusetts legal community for some time.

LaFountain is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and before the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts. Those admissions shape where he files matters and appear in court. He has maintained an active presence in state and local bar circles. He holds membership in the Massachusetts State Bar and belongs to the Massachusetts Council on Family Mediation. He is also a member of the Masons, William Parkman Lodge.

Over the years he has participated in broader bar activities as well. He has been involved with the Massachusetts Bar Association, the Boston Bar Association, and the West Suburban Bar Association. Participation in those groups has kept him connected to peers across different practice areas and to developments in state procedure and court practice.

Clients and colleagues describe him as steady and pragmatic. He focuses on practical problem solving and on preparing matters for court when litigation is required. He combines management experience from his early role with the responsibilities of partnership, steering both client files and firm operations.

He continues to practice at LaFountain & Wollman, P.C., handling matters filed in Massachusetts and in the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts. His current practice concentrates on representing clients in matters pursued in those courts.
