About Nicholas

Nicholas Gibson trained at the University of New Mexico School of Law, receiving his J.D. in 2015 after a two-year course of study. He completed law school shortly before gaining admission to practice in the mid-2010s and went on to add multiple state bars to his credentials.

Gibson began his legal career in litigation roles. Early positions included work at the National Litigation Law Group and the Nachawati Law Office, where he handled a range of civil matters and developed courtroom experience. He later moved into public-sector trial work as a senior trial lawyer in the Second Judicial District Lawyer’s Office. Those years in a prosecutor-style role deepened his trial skills and exposed him to high-volume case management and evidentiary practice.

After court-focused work, Gibson returned to private practice. He joined Brewer, Lawyers & Counselors as a senior lawyer, a post he holds currently. In that role he manages complex cases, prepares trial-ready files, and mentors junior attorneys. Colleagues describe him as methodical about case preparation and direct in his courtroom presentation.

Gibson is admitted to practice in New Mexico and Washington, both since 2016, and in Texas since 2020. He maintains active memberships in those state bars, participating in continuing legal education and bar programs. That multi-jurisdictional standing allows him to take cases that cross state lines and to advise clients on procedural questions that arise when litigation spans more than one forum.

Throughout his career Gibson has handled civil litigation matters of various types. His experience spans trial preparation, motion practice, discovery disputes and settlement negotiations. He has moved cases through docket systems on tight schedules and has tried matters in front of judges and juries. Those practical trial experiences shape how he approaches case strategy and client counseling.

Gibson’s courtroom background sits alongside day-to-day law office responsibilities. He drafts pleadings, oversees factual investigations, and coordinates with experts when cases require technical or scientific testimony. He also works on pretrial strategy and post-trial procedure when appeals or enforcement issues arise.

He keeps his practice current by maintaining active bar memberships in New Mexico, Washington and Texas and by staying engaged in trial work. He serves as a senior lawyer at Brewer, Lawyers & Counselors, where he combines courtroom work and case management in his current practice focus.
