About Neil
Neil Bhartia built a career that moves between courtrooms and corporate settings. He studied international business first, then added management training and a law degree. The education set a pragmatic tone for his work.
His academic path began at the Sprott School of Business at Carleton University, where he earned a Bachelor of International Business in 2000. He returned to the classroom for an MBA at the Schulich School of Business, York University, completed in 2003, concentrating on real property development, strategic management and finance. He finished his legal training at Chapman University Fowler School of Law, receiving his J.D. in 2008 and taking coursework in international and entertainment law.
Early in his legal career he combined public interest work and industry-side experience. He served as a law clerk for the Screen Actors Guild, which exposed him to contract and labor issues in entertainment. He also worked as a legal intern at the Public Law Center and provided pro bono legal services through Neighborhood Legal Services in 2009. He continues to volunteer there as a panel attorney, handling matters on a volunteer basis.
Bhartia has held managerial roles at a couple of plaintiff-oriented practices. He has been a managing lawyer at Legal Helpers and later took on a managing role at Syndicate Legal Car Accidents & Bankruptcy. In 2021 he was affiliated with Accident Pros LLP. Those positions have involved oversight of case intake and litigation strategy in personal injury and insolvency matters, alongside client counseling and team supervision.
He is admitted to practice in California and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. That admission permits him to handle appeals as well as trial-level work in state courts. His background in business and finance informs how he approaches damages, negotiations and restructuring options in bankruptcy work. His entertainment law experience has been useful on matters that intersect with media, contracts or licensing issues.
Clients and colleagues see a practitioner who combines courtroom experience with business training. He has moved between nonprofit legal work and private practice, often returning to volunteer matters even while holding management posts. The administrative responsibilities he has carried reflect experience running case teams and coordinating litigation calendars.
He currently handles car accident and bankruptcy matters at Syndicate Legal Car Accidents & Bankruptcy.
