About Nathan

Nathan Luna took a steady path into law. He studied political science at Middle Tennessee State University, earning a B.S. in 2007. He then attended Nashville School of Law and received his J.D. in 2013. Those academic years framed an early interest in public safety and the legal mechanics of criminal cases.

His first professional role after law school was brief but consequential. In 2013 he worked as a DUI prosecutor for the Williamson County District Lawyer's Office. The post put him in courtrooms early. He handled arraignments and hearings, and cut his teeth on the kind of fast-moving, evidence-driven matters that define DUI dockets.

After that year in prosecution, Luna’s professional affiliations shifted toward defense work. He joined the Tennessee Bar Association in 2014 and, the same year, became a member of the Tennessee Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Those memberships signal an engagement with the criminal defense community across the state. He has kept those ties active since 2014.

Colleagues describe him as methodical and practical in approach. He prefers direct preparation and attention to detail. He reads reports and watches dashcam footage carefully. He prepares witnesses and challenges the legal and factual foundations of cases when appropriate. That practical approach mirrors the work he did early in his career but from a different side of the courtroom.

Luna’s background in political science provided a broader context for legal questions. He learned to weigh policy as well as procedure. In practice, that translates into arguments that consider both the letter of the law and how enforcement plays out on the street. He has built a practice that relies on courtroom experience, procedural knowledge, and the professional networks developed through statewide bar activities.

Outside of court, he participates in professional development and the local legal community. His ongoing memberships in state associations keep him current on trends in criminal law and DUI defense. He attends continuing legal education programs and takes part in discussions about evidence, procedure, and sentencing.

He practices in Tennessee and handles criminal matters that include DUI-related cases. His work combines early prosecutorial experience and later defense-oriented activity in state courts.
