About Ms. Sarah Wright
Ms. Sarah Wright Rubenstein graduated from Amherst College in 1988 with a B.A. in Environmental Health Science and earned her J.D. from The University of Chicago Law School in 1994. Her academic path combined scientific training and legal study. That combination would shape the early years of her career.
After law school she joined Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal as an associate in 1997. Three years later she moved to Schultz & Little, where she worked as an associate beginning in 2000. Those positions exposed her to commercial litigation and regulatory matters in the Midwest legal market.
In 2004 Rubenstein took a staff lawyer post at the Interdisciplinary Environmental Clinic at Washington University School of Law. The clinic role placed her at the intersection of law, policy and public health. She worked alongside students and faculty on cases and projects that addressed environmental problems and regulatory responses.
Rubenstein began a series of of-counsel roles after leaving the clinic. She served as of counsel to Schultz & Associates in 2006, then to Devereux Murphy/Sher Corwin in 2008. In 2010 she joined Mickes Goldman O Toole LLC as of counsel. Those positions involved advising clients on compliance, permitting and dispute resolution, and they kept her connected to local bar organizations and institutional practice in the region.
Her bar memberships span Illinois, Kansas and Missouri, and she has been active in professional groups since the late 1990s. She has held memberships in the American Bar Association, the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis and the Missouri Bar since 1998. Outside the office she has been involved in her community school; she joined the Forsyth School Board of Trustees in 2010 and serves as co-chair of the Forsyth School Parent Organization.
Rubenstein’s career threads together environmental science, clinic-based advocacy and private practice counsel roles. She has worked on regulatory issues, administrative proceedings and related litigation across the tri-state area. Her experience spans law firm practice, academic clinic work and nonprofit engagement.
She is based in the Midwest and practices as of counsel at Mickes Goldman O Toole LLC. Her current practice concentrates on environmental regulatory compliance and related civil matters across Illinois, Kansas and Missouri.
