About Ms. Renee
Ms. Renee Marcelle earned her law degree from Seattle University School of Law, where she completed her studies in 1982. Before that she read Law and Justice at the University of Washington and received a B.A. in 1979. Those academic years set the stage for a long career in the law that has spanned courtrooms, community boards and private practice.
Early in her career Marcelle built experience in family law matters and related proceedings. She pursued admissions to practice in multiple states and is admitted to the bars of California and Virginia. Over time she combined courtroom work with client counseling and case management. She has handled both contested hearings and negotiated resolutions.
Her professional life has been shaped by involvement in local bar groups and civic committees. She served on the board of the Marin County Bar Association and continues to take part in its activities. She has been a member of Marin County Women Lawyers since 1989, participating in events and mentorship efforts aimed at lawyers in that community.
Since 2016 Marcelle has chaired the Community School Bond Oversight Committee. In that role she oversees committee work that reviews school district spending tied to voter-approved bonds. The chair position is public-facing and requires coordinating meetings, reviewing financial reports and reporting back to the community.
Marcelle runs the Family Law Offices of Renee M. Marcelle. Her office handles family law filings, client consultations and court preparation. She works through the procedural steps of cases and prepares the documentation needed for hearings and settlements. Her approach to client work is practical. Colleagues and former clients have encountered Marcelle in a variety of settings: court dockets, bar events and oversight committee meetings. She has balanced practice obligations with ongoing civic work. That mix of private practice and public service has been a constant in her professional life.
In practice she continues to take cases at the Family Law Offices of Renee M. Marcelle and remains active in the Marin County legal community. She practices family law at the Family Law Offices of Renee M. Marcelle.
