About Mr. Stephen Andrew
Mr. Stephen Andrew Strickland is an Alabama-trained lawyer who completed his legal education at Cumberland School of Law, Samford University, earning his J.D. in 1987. He previously studied political science and history at Stetson University, where he received his B.A. in 1981. Those academic years framed a steady interest in litigation and federal practice.
After law school he entered practice in matters that placed him before both state and federal tribunals. Over time he secured admissions that allow him to appear in the U.S. District Courts for Alabama’s Northern, Middle and Southern Divisions, in Colorado, before the Eleventh Circuit and at the U.S. Supreme Court. Those credentials reflect a practice that crosses trial and appellate lines rather than one confined to a single forum.
He is an attorney at Stephen Strickland Law. The firm handles cases that require filings and appearances in a variety of courts. That variety is reflected in Mr. Strickland’s roster of admitted jurisdictions and in the kinds of procedural work he undertakes. He has handled matters that move through the district court level and into appellate review, and he is familiar with the procedural demands of federal practice.
Colleagues and opposing counsel have described him as methodical in preparing pleadings and practical in courtroom settings. He tends to favor thorough preparation and clear argument. His education in political science and history informs a wider view of legal issues, and his long tenure at the bar has given him experience with the differing rules and expectations of state courts and federal benches.
He currently practices at Stephen Strickland Law, representing clients in matters in state and federal courts.
