About Mr. David Lawrence
Mr. David Lawrence Gibbs is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 1993. His license is currently in active status. Mr. Gibbs is the Senior Partner at The Gibbs Law Firm, APC, a full-service law firm located in San Clemente, California. He has been practicing law for over 32 years, serving clients throughout Southern California.
Mr. Gibbs earned his Juris Doctor degree from California Western School of Law in San Diego, California, where he graduated in 1993. Prior to law school, he completed his undergraduate education at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, California, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science in 1989. During his time at California Western, he participated in a City Attorney Internship and received multiple academic achievement awards.
Mr. Gibbs concentrates his practice in the areas of estate planning, real estate, bankruptcy, and business law. He represents individuals and businesses in matters involving estate planning, trust administration, business succession planning, real estate transactions, and bankruptcy proceedings. His practice encompasses all stages of litigation and transactional work, including initial case evaluation, discovery, mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial proceedings in both state and federal courts.
Throughout his career, Mr. Gibbs has handled cases in the Superior Court of California for the County of Orange, the United States District Court for the Southern District of California, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He has also appeared before the California Court of Appeal on multiple occasions. Prior to becoming Senior Partner at The Gibbs Law Firm, APC, he founded and operated several small businesses, including Homes of the West, LLC, and Pacific Housing Group, Inc., providing him with unique insight into small business operations and real estate transactions.
Mr. Gibbs is an active member of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys, the Orange County Bankruptcy Forum, the Inland Empire Bankruptcy Forum, and the Pacific West Association of Realtors. He is also a member of the American Academy of Estate Planning Attorneys, an exclusive national organization of estate planning attorneys committed to a high level of service and quality of work product. Additionally, he has served as a trustee and on the finance committee for San Clemente Hospital and has been involved with the San Clemente Sunrise Rotary Club, where he served as president.
