About Mr. Chad Van

Mr. Chad Van Horn built his legal foundation in South Florida. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and Entrepreneurship from Robert Morris College in 2005 and completed his J.D. at Shepard Broad Law Center, Nova Southeastern University in 2008. The move from a business undergraduate degree into law set the tone for a career that blends legal work with an understanding of commercial realities.

He began his professional life in business roles. In 2005 he served as vice president of marketing for Millennium Financial Group and worked as a realtor with Oasis Realty Group in 2006. He entered private practice shortly after law school and became a partner at Brown, Van Horn P.A. in 2009. He went on to found Van Horn Law Group P.A., where he serves as a founding partner and leads day-to-day legal work. He also maintains an of-counsel connection to the Bankruptcy Law Office of Orfelia M. Mayor P.A., providing additional depth on bankruptcy matters.

Van Horn is admitted to the Florida bar and holds federal admissions across the state. He is authorized to appear in the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Middle and Southern Districts of Florida, and he holds admission to the 11th Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court. In addition to those admissions, he is certified in Consumer and Business Bankruptcy by the American Board of Certification. That credential marks a formal recognition of experience handling bankruptcy cases for both individuals and small businesses.

His practice centers on bankruptcy law. He represents debtors and entities in consumer and business bankruptcy filings. He also handles related litigation and court appearances in federal district and appellate courts when cases move beyond the bankruptcy court. His role as of-counsel complements the work at his own firm and provides continuity for clients who need specialized bankruptcy representation.

Outside the office he has taken on board roles and volunteer work. He has been involved with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Broward County since 2012 and served as legal counsel to the organization’s board in 2013. He currently sits on the board of the Legal Aid Service of Broward County. He is a member of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Lawyers, the Bankruptcy Bar Association of the Southern District of Florida, and The Florida Bar.

He practices from Van Horn Law Group P.A. and handles consumer and business bankruptcy matters and related litigation.
