About Mr. Brent C

Mr. Brent C Diefenderfer trained in central Pennsylvania and built a legal path that moves from military courtrooms to bankruptcy dockets. He earned a B.A. from Dickinson College in 2001 and received his J.D. from Dickinson School of Law in 2004. Those years set the bookends for a career that has spanned public service and private practice.

Early in his career he served as a trial defense lawyer in the United States Army Judge Advocate General's Corps in 2005. That role placed him inside the military justice system at a formative point in his development as an advocate. He later transitioned to civilian practice and, by 2009, was working as a lawyer at CGA Law Office.

Over time Diefenderfer gravitated toward bankruptcy work. He is a Board Certified Consumer Bankruptcy Specialist through the American Board of Certification, a credential that denotes a concentrated practice in consumer bankruptcy matters. He has been a member of the Middle District of Pennsylvania Bankruptcy Bar Association since 2009 and continues that membership today.

He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and before the Federal Circuit. Those admissions reflect a practice that intersects both state bankruptcy courts and certain federal appellate responsibilities. His background includes trial experience from his JAG service and post-military litigation work in private practice.

Colleagues and court records show a lawyer who combines courtroom experience with the procedural demands of bankruptcy practice. His certification signals sustained attention to consumer bankruptcy law and the technical work that accompanies filings, plan negotiations and contested matters in bankruptcy court. The membership in the Middle District Bankruptcy Bar Association points to ongoing involvement in the district where many of his matters are likely filed.

Diefenderfer’s professional arc is straightforward: liberal-arts undergraduate study, three years of law school, military trial work, and then a move into civilian bankruptcy practice. He has maintained ties to the professional community through association membership and certification, and he continues to work on consumer bankruptcy cases and related bankruptcy litigation. He currently practices in Pennsylvania and before the Federal Circuit, concentrating on consumer bankruptcy matters.
